PRINCIPAL DANCER BAG
The Principal Dancer Collection was a capsule collection of dance apparel and accessories designed in collaboration with Francesca Hayward, the Principal Ballerina of the London Royal Opera House Ballet. A UK-based colleague met directly with Francesca in person for fittings and feedback. I designed the bag based on the very specific needs that Francesca specified, and to fit her edgy and minimalist design preferences. The clean, slouchy, oversized silhouette offers a surprising amount of organization inside with a central mesh zippered divider and stacked pockets around the perimeter. The attitude of the bag resonated with our leadership and merchandising team so much that it became the DNA for the On My Level collection on the following page
WOMEN’S BAGS
As mentioned above, the design language for the On My Level Collection grew out of the Principle Dancer Bag. This assortment of bags has become a pillar of the women’s bag business–providing a cleaner and more modern aesthetic than before. The lightweight crinkle nylon and updated hardware components were all new Raw Materials developments that I launched.
MEN’S BAGS
Before turning my focus entirely to women’s bags, I designed two collections of men’s technical bags–Assert and Command the Day. Both collections focused on intuitive storage solutions for the active urban consumer and were intended for seamless transition from work to workout. During my tenure I evolved the men’s bag vocabulary to a more understated aesthetic and introduced new fabrics like a HARY (High Abrasion Resistance Yarn) Nylon.
The Command the Day Collection, launched in 2018, featured a new High Abrasion Resistance Yarn that lends the bags a more durable handfeel, sturdier structure and matte finish.
The collection solves for the OTC (Office Travel Commute) need-state, providing clever storage solutions and convertibility.
